Team 2000-- Hockey 7-12

7 . Mats Sundin -- The 1st overall pick and first European ever drafted in that position. Starting his career with the Quebec Nordiques, Sundin was traded after four seasons to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Playing 13 seasons of his 18  with the Leafs and 11 of those as team captain. Sundin scored 70 points a season except for three years, his rookie,  the 1994-1995 lockout season, and his half season with the Canucks. During his career Sundin became the first Swedish player to score 500 goals, becoming the Leafs all-time leader in goals. Elected to the Hockey Hall Of Fame in 2012
                                                                SUCCESS

8. Pavel Bure -- Drafted in 1989 by the Vancouver Canucks, it wasn't until the 1991-1992 season he made his debut. Starting with a bang Bure won the Calder Memorial Trophy while scoring 34 goals and making 26 assists his rookie season. Due to his speed Bure was given the nickname 'The Russian Rocket'. Playing for the Canucks 7 years before being dealt to the Panthers. Sadly his career was shortened by knee injuries that eventually led to his retirement in 2005. Elected to the Hockey Hall Of Fame after 6 years of eligibility in 2012 .
                                                                 SUCCESS

9. Eric Desjardins -- Taken 38th overall by the Montreal Canadians in the 1987 draft.  Eric arrived in the NHL during the 1988-1989 season.  Already established as a great defender when this set came out I consider him a cheap entry by Pinnacle. The career defenseman played 7 years for the Canadians before being traded to the Flyers. After the trade Desjardins became the headliner to a great Flyers defense over the next ten seasons. A seven time Barry Ashbee Trophy an award given by the Flyers to their best defenseman. Retiring in 2006 after the Flyers wouldn't offer him an extension. Eric turned down an offer from Montreal and retired as a Flyer.
                                                                    SUCCESS

10. Owen Nolan -- Playing for six teams in what would be an 18 year career. Nolan was originally drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in 1990. Playing with the team until nine games after the team relocated to Colorado. Traded to the San Jose Sharks where he played for eight seasons. The last four years of his career were down years as he signed one year contracts with three different teams.  Finally Nolan was forced into retirement in 2010 as no teams showed any interest.  A five time all-star, scoring 422 goals and 463 assists.
                                                                 SUCCESS

11. Dominic Roussel -- Drafted 63rd overall in 1988 by the Philadelphia Flyers. Roussel spent his entire career bouncing back and forth between the NHL and minor leagues. A goalie who spent those few NHL years as a back-up. High dollar contract demands added to the troubles as he often was able to sign small single season contracts when he did play in the NHL. During his short time Roussel was 77-70 with 23 ties as goalie.
                                                                      BUST

12. Scott Niedermayer -- Picked 3rd by the New Jersey Devils in the 1991 player draft. Niedermayer was a defenseman who was known primarily for his skating and ability to lead an offensive rush. A four time Stanley Cup winner in his 18 year career. Three with the Devils, and one with the Mighty Ducks. The championship with the Ducks was extra special as brother Rob was on the team as well.  Selected six times for the all-star game Niedermayer played in five of those. Scott ended his career in 2010 with 172 goals, and 568 assists.
                                                          SUCCESS
